On July 4th,2010,Annika began understanding that the holiday was more than fireworks and cookouts–it was America’s birthday! Here is a conversation she had with my mom,Grandma Overholt:
Annika: “Grandma,if this is America’s birthday,how old is it?”
Grandma: “234 years old.”
Annika: “Is that older than you?”
