Have you seen all of the Angry Birds birthday party ideas on the web? Check out this functional Angry Birds cake! Amazing. When I came across this idea and this idea and this idea, I knew I had to try it out–even though I didn’t have a birthday party to host. (Logan LOVES playing angry birds…so does Jeff…okay, so do I!) So, I came up with this game for the kids to enjoy any day!
What you’ll need:
Balloons, scissors, tape, bean bags (or soft balls, wiffle balls, styrofoam balls, etc) and this free downloadable template of all the birds.
First, cut out the shapes from the template. (I HIGHLY suggest that you keep track of which bird parts go with each bird to avoid confusion. Not that I would know from experience or anything…) Next, attach the parts to the balloons. (Sorry, I forgot to take a pic of this step!)
Attach the birds to their perch. In this case, I used my house. (Please excuse my house, I’ve got home improvement projects going on. And on. And on.) I tried using my fence but they didn’t stay up as well.
Now comes the fun! Let the kids take turns aiming their bean bags at the birds. The object of the game is to knock them off of the wall.
If your kids are anything like Annika and Logan, they’ll reattach the balloons and play over and over! (I bought extra balloons just in case they popped.) Have fun!
