Yes, it’s the middle of the summer. Yes, it is 108 degrees outside today as I write this. But we have found there is no better way to beat the heat than to throw a big Christmas in July party! (After all, 5 months from TODAY is Christmas!)
We look forward to this party every year. Amanda and I begin planning the menu months in advance. And the menu is never the same from year to year.
Sure, we have some staples like sugar cookies that are consistent but we like to change it up a bit with new recipes we’ve discovered.
We take time to make all of the goodies…(Recognize the Ice Cream Bread?)
And decorate the house. If we could only add some snow outside…
All of our friends show up and we have a great time eating, chatting, eating more, listening to Christmas music, and did I mention eating?
Even Santa makes an appearance for the kids. After all, he needs a break from all of that toy making at the North Pole!
Sure, by the end of the day we’re exhausted, but we’ve made so many memories and enjoyed the time with our friends. It’s definitely worth it! Time to begin planning for next year!
