Corn Chowder

Grandma Johnson loved soups!  I remember going to Tippin’s with her as a kid and ordering the broccoli soup,enjoying Cinnamon’s Deli soup in a bread bowl,and later laughing together as we ate our chewy sourdough bread with our soup at Panera Bread.  This is a delicious soup recipe from Grandma!Ingredients:  1-10 oz. package shredded sharp cheddar cheese,2 c. boiling water,2 c. diced potatoes,1/2 c. chopped carrots,1/2 c. chopped celery,1/4 c. chopped onions,1/4 c. butter,1/4 c. flour,2 c. milk,and 2 c. cream style cornBoil (simmer) carrots,celery,onions,and potatoes in water for 10 minutes.Make cream sauce of melted butter,flour,and milk.Stir until thickened and creamy.Stir in shredded cheese until melted.Add cornand vegetables with their broth.Heat,but do not boil.  Serve and enjoy!

Also,1 c. cubed ham or smoked sausage can be added!Printable Recipe
