What is it about kids and their love for messy things? Seriously, make any craft, activity, or chore messy and they LOVE it! If you can make it edible on top of that, forget it. There’s no turning back at that point. So, when I saw this idea for Edible Finger Paint, I knew I could try my own recipe.
All it is made out of is vanilla pudding and food coloring. Rocket science, I know!
Divide the vanilla pudding into individual bowls.
Add food coloring.
Mix well to create vibrant colors.
Cover your table with paper. (I highly recommend covering the WHOLE table.) Add “paint” in the middle.
Also, cover the kids in trash bags to prevent any stains on their clothes.
Then, watch the creations begin!
A little taste…
A lot more messiness…
Honestly, it wasn’t too bad to clean up. Roll the paper up to throw away, wipe down table, rinse kids off after they’ve licked their arms and hands, and you’re good to go. You can keep the artwork–it does dry well, but it also attracts ants.
Even the adults enjoyed rainbow pudding as an afternoon snack!
This was a great indoor activity that I’m sure we’ll do again. Do you have any indoor activities to recommend?
