Edible Play Dough

 We’re all about keeping it real here at TaLooLa and that includes when we have a recipe flop.  I can have the best of intentions but still end up getting this face from Logan…

In case you can’t tell,that would be his “Yuck!”  face.  It all started very innocently.  I was looking through my notebook of recipes I’ve pulled from magazines and found one for Edible Play Dough and decided to try it. 

Powdered Milk,oatmeal,peanut butter,and honey.  That’s it.  Sounds good,right?

You start with the oatmeal.

Add the powdered milk.

Add the peanut butter.

Slowly add the honey until you have a consistency that sticks together.

Still looks like fun at this point…

I gave it to Logan to play with and he began by rolling it.

Then he tried to flatten it and it was SO hard to do.

Still trying…

I had him taste it…

And got the “Yuck!”  look! 

It honestly didn’t taste that bad,but could have been a little sweeter.  And it was a weird consistency with the oatmeal in there.  Reminded me of grass stuck in a cow patty.  Sorry.  But that was what it was like! 

Mom has a homemade play dough recipe I might try even though you can’t eat it.  And I found this recipe from Kate Gosselin that is edible and does not include oatmeal.  Have you found any fun homemade playdough recipes?
