Headband Holder

Ever since Tangled came out in theaters and now on DVD,my daughter has been obsessed with hair.  She went from having a cute little framing-your-face hairstyle with bangs to growing her locks out to look like Rapunzel.  Although her hair usually resembles a nest and not blond flowing wave of hair,Annika LOVES headbands–every color, plastic, fabric, bows, jewels, beads–any and all kinds of headbands!  So the dilemma is…..how do you store headbands?  Her headbands constantly fall off the shelf, get lost in the closet, get tangled (no pun intended!) with each other, and are in such a jumbled mess that she cannot even tell what headbands she owns!  So we decided to make a headband holder!Simply take a cylinder container like an oatmeal container or a cylinder paper mache box found at your local craft store and cover it with paper.    To cover it,we painted Modge Podge (a craft glue) onto the container, placed paper on top,and painted another layer of Modge Podge on the paper to give it a glossy look.  Then,we added another printed paper and ribbon to embellish it and painted each addition with more glue!  Next we covered the chipboard letter “A”with paper and ribbon on both sides with the Modge Podge.  Finish by super-gluing the letters onto each end of the cylinder.  Place all headbands on the cylinder to store and easily display the collection for your Rapunzel! Now it even looks cute to set out on top of the dresser!  Be sure to check out our headbands in our shop!

Hi…what size letters did you use,and where did you find them? I love the holder! I have been looking for something for my daughter like this!

    • Thanks for your interest in our headband holder! We used 8″chipboard letters and a cylinder hat box about the circumference that the headbands would rest on without stretching them. Both found at Hobby Lobby!
