As a busy mom,I treasure every second I get with my kids. That cute face they make, the adorable position the baby is found sleeping, even the nail polish body paint (thank you very much Logan!)–I want to remember every one of those timeless moments.
But….I am a BUSY mom! My pile of pictures is growing into a boxful of pictures and I have more scrapbooking plans than finished pages! So let’s do this together! Do you feel like you are just so far behind that you can never catch up? Don’t fear! Every week,we will take one more step in organizing our pictures into creating beautiful scrapbooks that our kids will treasure forever and pass on to their kids!
Now,I know there are some of you that do all your scrapbooking digitally on the computer but I am old fashioned and enjoy the 3-D ribbons, pictures, stickers, papers, and inks that are like an artist’s masterpiece. If you do make all of your scrapbooks and photo albums on the computer, maybe you could apply our ideas to a special occasion book!
First, decide the topic of the entire book. Is it your family vacation to Disney World? Is it a baby book? Is it your child’s first grade school year? Is it your family memories of 2010? Sort through your pictures and separate them into smaller piles according to what albums you eventually want to make! Get a small box for each book you are wanting to make and label the box so you don’t mix them up. Dont worry about putting the pictures in order yet. Just separate them into their correct album box!
Here are some ideas for types of albums to get you started:
- family vacation
- yearly album
- school album–either by year or child
- baby book
- your pet’s book
- Boy scout/Girl scout album
- sports album
- wedding book
