Ice Cream Bread

Ice Cream Bread….sounds great, huh?!  It is as tastey as it sounds!  Aunt Jane and Uncle Tim brought this bread to a family reunion and it was such a hit!

Ingredients:  1 pint of premium ice cream (Haagan Daaz,Ben and Jerry’s,etc) and 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour for each loaf of bread

Be creative and try different flavors of ice cream.  It changes the entire flavor of bread!  For this recipe,I am using Ben and Jerry’s Cinnamon Buns and Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream to make two different loaves of bread. Set ice cream out of the freezer onto the counter for a few minutes until it is softened.  Stir together ice cream and flour, stirring just until flour is moistened.

Spoon batter into a greased 8×4 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center of the bread comes out clean. Yummmmmm…look at those cinnamon sugar bursts and those delicious chunks of cherries and chocolate!  Remove from the pan and cool on a wire rack.

What are your favorite flavors of ice cream to use in this recipe?
