Omelettes for a Crowd

When I saw Paula Deen make this recipe on her Food Network show,I knew I needed to try it.  It actually works!  Anytime you have overnight guests, host a brunch,or just need an easy meal for your family, try this out!  What you’ll need:

Eggs,resealable baggies,toppings (I used peppers,cheese,onion,tomatoes,and bacon.  But,you could add SO much more to it–spinach,mushrooms,ham,different types of cheeses,sausage,etc.)

Write your name on the baggie.

First, start by whisking eggs together in a bowl.  I would recommend 2-3 eggs per omelette.  If you have a big appetite, don’t make a bigger omelette–make two smaller ones.

Pour eggs into baggie.

Add toppings to baggie.  Whatever combo you want.  You can make this very healthy–egg whites and veggies.

Seal baggie. VERY important step.

Place baggie in pot of boiling water.  Cook for 8 minutes.

Pull out of water (Careful,it’s hot!) Open baggie and slide omelette onto plate.  (Yes,it slides right out.)

Enjoy!

What is SO nice is that each person can customize their omelette without you slaving over a stove all morning.  And,they can eat at different times if they prefer.  Or,you can have 10 omelette baggies all cooking at once!
