Time for Tea!
So many summer days were spent playing make-believe. One of our favorite things to play as sisters was restaurant. We would take turn being a waitress (our career choice at age 8!) or both waiting on our stuffed animals and dolls. During the summer we would enjoy playing “restaurant”outside by using our tea set. RC Cola was our coffee…you know–they’re the same color…and one of mom’s yummy homemade cookies as our food.
Now,my kids love playing Tea Party at Grandma’s house because their ingredients for a tea party are tons of junk food! I know you are thinking that this is a girl activity but most of the time Logan is the one initiating the idea because he loves to pour from the pitcher and create delicious treats!
Here are a few items you could use:
Cheerios,milk,chocolate chips,marshmallows,water,or sprinkles
A tea set or if you do not have one,use a creamer pitcher, dixie cups (any small sized cups!),and small tupperware to use as bowls
Don’t forget a rag towel to use as the tablecloth!
The kids just love making coffee by pouring water from the pitcher in to a cup on a saucer of course, adding a little milk as creamer, and then a snack in the bowls are usually a mix of Cheerios, marshmallows, and chocolate chips unless you are Logan and then you add more milk or water on top of that and make soup!
Enjoy this fun kid-friendly activity as a summer outdoor tea party or inside during those rainy days!
Even Molly,our dog,loves a good tea party!
